Course Description
Dreadlocks can be created in a variety of sizes and shapes, depending on the desired look and hair type. They can also be decorated with beads, shells, or other adornments.
Dreadlock extensions can also be added to existing dreadlocks to create length or volume, or to cover areas of hair loss. These extensions are typically made from human hair that has been tightly woven or crocheted into the existing dreadlocks.
This course is designed for individuals interested in learning the art of starting and maintaining human hair dreadlocks, as well as creating and applying synthetic or human hair dread extensions. Students will gain an understanding of the history and cultural significance of dreadlocks and learn how to properly section and prepare the hair for a natural-looking dreadlock installation.
In addition, students will learn various techniques for starting and maintaining dreadlocks, including backcombing, twist and rip, and freeform methods.
By the end of the course, students will have the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently start and maintain human hair dreadlocks, as well as create and apply human hair dreadlock extensions for their clients.
